Serves 6
1 beef brisket (about 3 #, trimmed of most fat)
salt and pepper
1 medium yellow onion, thinly sliced
1 can beer (12 oz)
1 bottle Heinz Chili sauce (12 oz.), available in grocery stores near the ketchup
3/4 cup brown sugar
Combine the onion, beer, chili sauce and brown sugar, set aside.
Season the brisket with salt and pepper on both sides and place in the slow cooker.
Pour the sauce over the brisket and turn the meat, coating both sides. Leave the brisket with the fattier side on top.
Cook on low 6-8 hours.
Serve with mashed potatoes, or some crusty bread, just be sure you have something to soak up the gravy!
