You can use beef, pork or chicken and almost any vegetables you want in this dish. You can add snow peas or bean sprouts to the vegetables I have here, if desired. If using leftover pork, chicken or beef, just cut the meat into strips or bite-size pieces and skip the first step.
Serves about 6
1 pound spaghetti or linguini, cooked according to directions.
1/2 to 3/4 pound pork, chicken or beef, cut into strips
2 Tablespoons sesame oil (can use olive oil but sesame would be better)
1 Tablespoon olive oil
red pepper flakes
1 small onion, sliced
3 green onions, thinly sliced
red or yellow bell pepper, cut into thin strips
2 Tablespoons soy sauce
Heat 2 Tablespoons sesame oil in a frying pan over high heat. Add meat. Cook the meat, then remove it and set it aside.
Add vegetable oil to the pan; shake in some red pepper flakes and cook onions and pepper, stirring constantly to keep the vegetables crisp, about one minute. Turn heat down to medium, add the meat and heat it through. Add the cooked pasta to the pot and toss. Add meat and the soy sauce and toss everything together.
